Day 1: Mid-morning and afternoon game drive in Tsavo East National Park.
Day 2: morning game drive in Tsavo East National Park and afternoon game drive in Taita Hills Salt Lick.
Day 3: morning and mid-morning game drive in Taita Hills Salt Lick then drive back to Mombasa.
Depart from Mombasa early in the morning and drive to Tsavo East National Park, nicknamed "Theatre of the Wild" via the Mombasa-Nairobi highway. After completing park entry formalities enter the park through Bachuma Gate and commence your game viewing drive in search of Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalo etc. We will visit the Aruba Dam - a man-made dam on the seasonal Voi River. The dam attracts big game and bird species especially in dry seasons. After lunch, you will have an afternoon game viewing. Dinner and overnight at your pre-booked Safari Camp or Lodge. Tsavo East National Park is located in Taita Taveta County (formerly Taita Taveta District of Coast Province, Kenya) on the peripheries of Voi Town. The park is 120 kilometers away (about 2.5 hours drive) from Mombasa and 325 kilometers (about 6.5 hours drive) from Nairobi City. Tsavo East National Park is one of the world's largest game reserves, providing undeveloped wilderness homes to vast numbers of animals. Famous are the "Red Elephants" and "The Man-eaters of Tsavo" - some adult males often lack manes entirely. Other big game likely to be seen include zebras, giraffes, hyenas, cheetahs, leopards and buffaloes among others. Over 400 bird species have been recorded in the area, including ostriches, kestrels, buzzards, starlings, weaver birds, kingfishers, hornbills, secretary birds and herons. Pre and after breakfast game drive looking for animals. After breakfast leave the park and proceed to Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary - a privately owned conservation area located at the foot of the Taita Hills adjacent to Tsavo West National Park. Check-in at Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge for l unch. After lunch transfer to Salt Lick Lodge for a short rest followed by afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Salt Lick Lodge. The combined sanctuaries of Taita Hills and Lumo are host to cape buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, cheetah, Masai giraffe, zebra, hartebeest, impala, waterbuck, Thomson's gazelle, lesser kudu, dik-dik, and other smaller animals, including a diversity of birdlife Wake up early in the morning for a hot cup of coffee/tea and cookies - the little beautiful things in life as you listen to the early morning bird calls, the hyenas laughing, roaring lion or the elephants trumpeting then at 6.30am leave the lodge for your early morning game drive. You will be driven back to the lodge at 8.30 for refreshment and full breakfast.
