This 2 Days Tsavo East and West Safari take you to the largest national park in Kenya and one of the largest in the world ( nearly 22,000km2), which is noted for its vast elephants herds and variety of game including buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard, giraffe, zebra and plains game of almost every kind.
Leave Mombasa very early in the morning and drive to Tsavo East National Park arriving in time for mid-morning game drive in search of different wild animals and bird species. Lunch will be had at the Voi Safari Lodge which is built on top of a cliff faced hill overlooking the the plains extending as far as the undulating terrain of the Yatta Plateau - the remnants of the world's longest flow of lava, over 300 Km in length and rising over 100m from its neighbouring lands. Three water holes sunk by the lodge below the cliff attract many wild animals. After lunch drive to Tsavo West National Park with game viewing en-route to Ngulia Rhino sanctuary. Dinner and overnight at your pre-booked Safari Camp or Lodge. Tsavo East National Park is accredited as one of the world’s leading biodiversity strongholds. The parks landscape consists mostly of miles and miles of dry flat thorn-bush, semi-arid acacia scrub and narrow woodland dominated by acacia. Tsavo East National Park is a giant ecosystem, home to one of Africa's largest elephant herds. Other animals to be seen in the park include lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, different kinds of antelopes and over 350 species of birds. After an early breakfast leave for the morning game drive which includes a visit to Mzima Springs - a series of four natural springs that produces 250 million litres of crystal clear fresh water a day. The springs, whose source rises in the Chyulu Hills, provides the bulk of Mombasa’s fresh water. From an underground observatory chamber built in the resulting pond, hippos, crocodiles and different species of fish can be seen. Proceed with your game drive visiting the Shetani lava flow where if weather permits you will be able to see Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa’s highest mountain) from a distance.
